Capstone Project

The scope of the project was to develop a model for an IDS from the ground up trying various machine learning algorithms. We used CIC 2018, CIC 2019 and HIKARI as our network traffic data. We used different datasets to simulate unseen traffic instead of using a train-test-split and holding the model’s hand.

HackOne RF

With my previous position at the Sacred Heart IDEA Lab I had access to some incredible gadgets. One of which was Great Scott’s HackOne RF. This device allowed me to receive or send on any frequency from 1MHz to 6GHz. I experimented a good while with the HackOne where I was able to code and execute a replay attack on a vehicle with an isolated key press. As most cars today are equipped with rolling code I would press the key outside the range of the vehicle and replay that signal later to unlock it.

Closer to Free

On September 7, 2024, I will be participating in the Closer to Free Ride to support cancer research at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. Every dollar I raise goes directly toward changing and saving lives, and I need your support to make a difference. My Uncle triumphed over cancer, and now I want to help others achieve the same victory. Cycling has become a passion for me, and this event is a perfect opportunity to combine my love for the sport with my commitment to this vital cause.
